Project Assistant - Policy Dialogue and Public Diplomacy Facility - Australia

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Assistant to join our team and contribute to the success of the Policy Dialogue and Public Diplomacy Facility – Australia, an EU-funded initiative. This part-time freelance role is based in Canberra, with national reach and a combination of remote and in-person flexibility. Occasional attendance at events and out-of-hours work may be required.

About the Project: This initiative supports dialogue, stakeholder engagement, and public diplomacy between the EU and Australia. It aims to deepen bilateral relations, enhance public understanding of EU policies, and promote shared values in areas such as trade, culture, security, and climate change.

Working under the guidance of the Project Director and Team Leader, the key responsibilities (as outlined in the full ToR attached) include:

  1. Point of Contact Responsibilities
  2. Project Financial Coordination
  3. Project Implementation & Administration:
  4. Logistical Assistance for Events:

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent diploma.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in similar roles in Australia, preferably within international organizations or EU-funded projects.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of French is an advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and excellent organizational abilities.
  • Other: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to multitask and work independently.
