Recommendations for the Agricultural Sector of Ukraine

Russia’s war against Ukraine hit its half-year mark at the end of August 2022. The military invasion has seen daily killings, mass destruction of civilian infrastructure and displacement of civilians. The population of Ukraine faces unemployment, poverty and food insecurity. Once the world’s biggest producer of wheat, corn and sunflower oil, Ukrainian agriculture has been severely affected by the war. 
 
GDSI has conducted some research to identify main issues in the agricultural sector of Ukraine caused by the war. It has also made sectoral recommendations to support Ukrainian farmers, local authorities and civil society organisations.
