Opportunity: Events Coordinator

We are seeking an Events Coordinator to support the delivery of events, campaigns, and partnership initiatives that strengthen engagement with Australian stakeholders across government, academia, media, civil society, and business sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with an international client delivering public diplomacy events, developing partnerships and expanding Australia’s foreign relations.

Location 

WFH, Canberra- based, Australia (Sydney-based candidates may also be considered)

Duration

This is contract position, with competitive daily rates. It is expected that the candidate would work up to 12 hours a week as instructed by the Team Leader. The candidate must have an ABN, with some domestic travel required.

About the Role

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will play a key role in supporting the planning and delivery of dynamic public-facing initiatives aligned with overall project goals and strategic priorities.

Candidate Profile

You are a highly organised, proactive professional with strong technical skills and experience working with Australian institutions.

Required 

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree or equivalent diploma
  • Fluency in English

General Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting events management and/or partnerships
  • Proven experience in event marketing/promotion and communications within Australia
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments

Specific professional experience

  • Experience managing public-facing or public diplomacy-style events
  • Strong technical capability in producing event materials and digital assets
  • Proven reporting skills, including collating event outputs and feedback surveys
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Australian stakeholders and institutions
