About the Assignment

As part of our preparations, we are building a pool of highly qualified experts for upcoming short-term assignments under the project EU for Biodiversity and Circular Economy Communication Services in Albania, aimed at shaping the narrative of Albania’s transition toward a greener and more resource-efficient future.

We are particularly interested in professionals with the following profiles.

Expert Profile

Circular Economy

  • University degree (bachelor, master, or higher) in relevant fields: environmental science, economics, engineering, or sustainability.
  • Demonstrated expertise in (EU) circular economy and waste policy, sustainable finance, and environmental economic analysis.
  • Awareness of relevant EU and international policies and legislation is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Recognized certifications and advanced training, such as Circular Economy Specialist or practitioner-level certificates is an asset
  • Knowledge of EU acquis in the area of circular economy is an asset

Environmental Expert

  • Bachelor’s or preferably Master’s/PhD in environmental science, engineering, ecology, biology, or related fields.
  • Experience monitoring, analyzing, and reporting in line with national/EU policy requirements.
  • Strong data gathering, quality assurance, and analysis capacity; ability to work with complex environmental datasets.
  • Collaboration experience with EU agencies and international expert teams is an asset.
  • Knowledge of EU acquis in the area of environment is an asset

Waste Management Expert

  • Academic degree in environmental science, engineering, or waste management (bachelor/minimum, master preferred).
  • At least 4 years of practical experience in the area of waste management
  • In-depth familiarity with European waste legislation, compliance standards, and sustainable resource management.

Biodiversity Expert

  • Academic degree in biodiversity, ecology, biology, environmental science, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrable expertise in Albanian and/or European biodiversity policy (NATURA2000), monitoring, conservation, and international research cooperation.
  • Experienced in synthesizing scientific information, drafting evidence-based reports, and organizing stakeholder or expert workshops.
  • Knowledge of EU biodiversity monitoring systems, international coordination, and policy frameworks.
