Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Youth

Successful democracies are built on a robust civil society and proactive youth engagement, encouraging active citizen participation and shaping socio-political narratives.

As a trusted partner of the European Union and other donors, GDSI has played a pivotal role in implementing key initiatives strengthening the role of civil society and youth in promoting democratic changes and enabling their active involvement in policy and decision-making processes.

Since 2021, we have been leading the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Facility project across six Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries, and we are instrumental in managing the EU-funded Technical Assistance to Civil Society Organisations (EU TACSO 3) project in the Western Balkans and Türkiye.

The power of youth is the common wealth for the entire world. The faces of young people are the faces of our past, our present and our future. No segment in the society can match with the power, idealism, enthusiasm and courage of the young people.

Both projects represent major CSOs’ initiatives under the EU's Civil Society Facility (CSF) mechanism and aim to strengthen the capacity of CSOs and foster an environment conducive to active civic participation in the EU Accession process.
