Description:

The overall objective of the project was to strengthen the administrative capacity of the Kaliningrad oblast, contributing to improving the conditions for business development, and to foster competitiveness and the socio-economic development of the region. The purposes of this project were:

  1. to assist the implementation of the municipal reform and the restructuring of the regional and local finance and budget systems;

  2. to put in place conditions for increased investment and enhanced competitiveness of the region, including development of clustering, R&D capabilities and PPP arrangements;

  3. to develop and implement Information and Communication Technologies and information systems at different levels of the Regional Government, as means to promote electronic governance (E-Government- G2G, G2C, G2B), improve information flows, increase efficiency, reduce administrative costs, etc.


Project Title: Internalisation of Russian SMEs through the Chamber of Commerce Network

Description:

The main objectives of the project were to:

  1. Organise a one-week study visit for 10 selected executives from RF Chambers to the EU, focused on best practice in internationalisation services. Prime target countries: Spain (PIPE programme), Austria (Go International), Netherlands (PSB);

  2. Organise individual short traineeships for 10 selected executives from RF Chambers to individual Chambers in the EU, to expose them to the internal functioning of an international affairs division within an EU Chamber;

  3. Select (along with EUROCHAMBRES) 5 senior executives from RF Chambers to attend EUROCHAMBRES' Summer Academy (June 2008), offering a unique networking and training experience in Chamber management;

  4. Moderate 5 hearings with SMEs across Russia (organised by local CCIs), to discuss their needs in the area of internationalisation and their expectations towards local and regional Chambers;

  5. Carry out 5 local Chamber audits, focusing on the internationalisation potential;

  6. Organise a final conference, presenting the conclusions and internationalisation plan.
